Methodology

The following principles underpin Apt Consult’s consulting and training approaches:

•    Apt Consult’s approach in training and consulting assignments is anchored on its value of learning.
Our consultants/trainers are required to present themselves as humble learners, not the “all knowing experts” in every engagement Apt Consult has with clients. As learners, we respect our clients, we actively listen to them, actively involve them in co-creating solutions to their problems. We don’t prescribe solutions!

•    Developing projects to solve people’s problems requires understanding of problems as results of a web of interrelated factors in the wider system - not just as a linear cause and effect relationship – requiring a Systems Thinking approach.

•    Facilitating development processes is to facilitate from certain values and from a consciousness of oneself.

•    Facilitating is not a matter of just skills or acquiring new ideas; it rather calls for focusing on the whole person. Apt Consult takes a holistic approach and has a strong focus on personal development.

•    Clients who choose to engage with Apt Consult need to exhibit a wish to learn and develop through this process, not just acquire a certification, or satisfy other requirements. 

•     Apt Consult’s training and consulting approaches will challenge clients. There will be plenty of opportunities for taking risk, for exploring the unknown, and for the application of concepts, theories, models, and hands-on experience to build high performing leaders, teams, systems, and enabling cultures and organizations.

•    Facilitation is an enabling process rather than a set of technical skills.
